Volunteer
As a nonprofit organization, Cinnabar relies on volunteers to fulfill its mission.
We welcome and appreciate your expertise to assist in running this operation.
Volunteer positions we are always in need of:
- Parkers in the Parking Lot
- Ushers and greeters in the Theater
- Building and painting sets
- Striking the sets when show closes
- Sewing & laundering costumes
- Office work as needed
Whether you can donate an hour or a year of your time, we are grateful for your support.
Training is provided at your first shift. Benefits include complimentary tickets, meeting wonderful people, and experiencing the joy of giving back to your community!

CLASSES
Acting for Adults: Back by popular demand! Open to all experience levels, this class is designed for adult actors to learn and hone their acting skills.
Day/Time: Wednesdays – 7:00pm – 9pm
October 16th-December 4th.

Energetic Theater Concessions Associate who enjoys the active atmosphere that is created in a busy theater lobby. Adept at working in high-pressure situations, maintaining proper inventory levels and enhancing the customer's experience. Learn More.
Stage Manager
We are searching for a skilled, self-motivated stage manager to join our production team. The role of the stage manager is especially important to the director in rehearsals. The director and the stage manager work side by side, with the stage manager recording the director's decisions about blocking and notes for the actors, keeping track of logistical and scheduling details and communicating what goes on in rehearsals to the rest of the team. Set Designer
We are searching for a skilled, self-motivated set designer to join our production team. The set designer’s responsibilities include analyzing scripts and collaborating with the director, researching historical and architectural details, providing cost and time estimates, and ensuring all sets meet safety standards. You should be able to collaborate with different creative teams. Learn More
Lighting Designer, Costume Designer

Teaching Artist
Cinnabar Theater is seeking a Teaching Artist to teach 2 classes a week for our after-school program focusing on theater introduction for young actors, aged 5-8 for one class, and 8-12 for the other. Teaching artist will teach acting and scene work and direct/choreograph a final presentation for the after-school program. Learn More.

The Cinnabar Singers is a community program, mixed chorus. We welcome anyone 16 or older who shares the joy of singing in glorious harmony with likeminded folk.
- Tuition: $175
- Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings at 7:15pm
- Dress rehearsal: Friday, May 5 (evening) - Elim Lutheran
- Concert: Sunday, May 7 (2 PM call; 3 PM concert) - Elim Lutheran church

Auditions & Script Submissions
Auditions
Actors are hired on a show-by-show basis during the season and auditions for individual shows are by invitation only. Cinnabar Theater holds open auditions annually, typically in the late spring. These auditions are announced on Theatre Bay Area website. To be notified of auditions in your area of interest, please send your resume and a recent headshot to Artistic Director, Nathan Cummings,

Thank you for your interest in submitting your script to Cinnabar Theater! Due to the high volume of submissions and limited staff, we are postponing the reception of new submissions until further notice.
